When we are facing an enemy, most of us were taught not to walk away without a fight. There are strategies that you may use to gain an edge over your opponent, but you must keep trying. Even if you lose a battle, you don’t give up on the war. If you recall a fight that you have had, maybe when you were a child or even as an adult, you remember fighting to the end; perhaps not always a physical fight, but one for your rights or beliefs. It really does not matter about the type or kind, but what was important was that you persevered until the end. So now you’ve stepped onto the spiritual battlefield against a different enemy, but this time you have help to defeat your enemy!
Woman of God, have you walked faithfully by your husband’s side overcoming countless obstacles to get to where you are now only to give up the fight? No, you have not! Don’t forget, this fight unlike many others you have faced is fixed! You’ve already won, but only if you stay in the fight. There will be challenges that will make you want to give up, but if you have a renewed mind by the Word of God, those challenges will become stepping stones to your expected end.
Staying in a fight until the end requires preparation. In a natural fight, you work out to build muscle, or study your opponent, because one wisely understands that you do not show up unprepared. So in our spiritual lives, we prepare daily because of our constant battles with the enemy. How do you prepare daily you may ask? A consistent prayer life (power), fasting (nourishment), attending church regularly (perseverance), and studying & meditating on the Word of God (weapon) will keep you prepared for your battles at all times. Many things come to discourage us from staying in the fight, but we must not allow distractions because focus is necessary. As a pastor’s wife, there are many fights ahead of you, but remember you are equipped for them. Be encouraged Woman of God, because victory is inevitable, if you just stay in the fight!
