Every so often an artist emerges that captures our attention, makes our ears perk up and take note of what pure talent and anointing looks and sounds like. Jessica Reedy is indeed one of those artists. The 22-year old vocalist and songwriter first graced us with her choral gift on BET’s gospel singing competition Sunday Best in 2009. Although she did not win the competition series, Jessica has continued to let her light shine, participating in various events such as Celebrity Health Forum presented by BET’s Rap-It-Up campaign and Mary J. Blige’s FFAWN Foundation. She’s also put on a show stopping performance at Sheryl Lee Ralph’s Divas Simply Singing Benefit in Beverly Hills, California. Now the musically statuesque singer backed by her new label family Light Records is poised to release her sophomore album Transparent.
It is frequently said that music is the soundtrack to life and Jessica’s story is no exception. Her melodic tale of insecurity, fear, guilt and pain began during college where she found her self pregnant at an early age and force to drop out and move back in with her mother.
